I have received a few emails regarding updates to this area. Sorry, I
have been really tied up with something totally new. I have been doing
a lot of testing to make sure my physical condition is good.
This week (Oct. 1-7) I have been checking my heart condition. An EKG on
Tuesday, an Echocardiogram on Thursday, together with a Holter 24 hour
monitor , and on Friday (today) the toughest thing I have ever done. A
Nuclear Stress Test. This test is all about checking the flow going
into the heart. Google it for details.
I got injected via IV a radioactive solution called Thallium and some
other substance that kicks your heart rate for the second testing
session. Then the Gamma ray 'camera' can take 'pictures' of the heart
pumping the radioactive fluid. Looks really high tech. I had an adverse
reaction to it all and I found myself with a massive headache and
nausea.
I gues I am in the 2% of people that have this type of reaction to this test.
I had to miss one day (today) at work, but the good news is that after
A LOT of resting, I feel better. However, I am not yet at 100%.
If all continues to move forward the way I am expecting, there should
be no problem getting ready for next week's race at Sebring. For now, I
just have to take it easy to recover from today's tests.
I hope I can see some of you at the track. Keep those emails coming. Thank you for keeping in touch.
Be safe. Race hard, on the tracks!
